the party goes to DC (still catching up...)

Lots of things have happened since the holidaze. Like, this hat was put on. Pretty darn cute. I know.

But sometimes cuteness needs a little rable-rousing mixed in.

So this February, the party hopped on a train to DC, with a bunch of other concerned humans to go and rally+march in front of the president's house. Our hope was that he would hear our voices and see our mass of 40,000+ peoples who want to stop the destruction of this one and beautiful earth and then do something about it. Did I mention we took a train? With an almost one-year-old? I know, crazy.

Here are some random photo highlights from our trip. [ Not pictured are any of the people on the train, nor our visits in DC with our cousins Catherine and Matt, nor our dinner with Ed, Kate and Hannah. ]

En route. Somewhere in Wisconsin.

Breakfast, the day of the ramble-rousing with the lovely Reed Family.

Cutie-pie photo shoot with the Washington Memorial in the background.

MN350 is the group we were there with. They gave us hats. It was cold!

MikeD and Ed were there too.

When the cold and windy rally+march were done, MikeD and the party adjourned to an establishment serving beer and the best grilled cheese+fries ever. Their goodness inspired the following cuteness.

The next day, we gathered up our stuff, and made our way back to the train station.

And this is the face we made when we found out that the president was golfing with oil execs the day we showed up at his house. Johnny's smiling, because he's not surprised.
